Every day, people throughout Louisiana are working hard, yet they continue to struggle to make ends meet.
People are doing everything right — and still falling behind.
This is not a motivation problem.
This is not a work ethic problem.
This is a system problem.
When someone works full-time, they should be able to:
Pay rent
Afford groceries
Maintain transportation
Take care of their health
Support their children
Right now, that is not reality for many people.
Low wages don’t just hurt individuals — they affect entire communities:
Families fall behind
Stress increases
Health declines
Systems like healthcare, courts, and social services become overwhelmed
When people are paid fairly, everything improves:
More stability
More spending in local businesses
More tax revenue
Stronger communities
This is why we are advocating for a $25/hour livable wage.
Not as a luxury — but as a foundation for stability.
Community Voices Matter
We are gathering real experiences from people across Louisiana.
If you’ve had challenges with:
Low wages
Government systems (DCFS, courts, law enforcement)
Healthcare access
Nonprofit or disaster assistance
Please take a moment to share your experience:
Your voice helps identify patterns, expose gaps, and create real solutions.
We cannot fix what we refuse to see.
And we cannot build stronger communities without listening to the people living in them.
